Starting new chapters in London

Welcome aboard this new project of mine!

I'm starting in London, which feels fitting because it was the first place I ever traveled abroad.

That was nine years ago and, since then, I've been to almost forty countries, countless cities, and have actually spent most of my adult life abroad.

Growing up, London was the goal. My family was a 'spring break in Gulf Shores' kind of family. No one had ever left the US so I thought, maybe, if I was lucky, I'd make it to London one day. (London was the international version of my childhood dream to move to New York. Big, artsy, cool, and English-speaking.)

That first trip ended up being a comedy of errors, but exciting enough that I couldn't wait to do it again. So, six months later, I did.

And two years and many more trips after that, I sold my stuff and set off for a year of nomad-ing with Remote Year. London was my first stop.

It's only now that I realize the city has been the start of many new chapters—as a traveler, a nomad, and now... a bartender? Podcaster?

That's the thing about chapters. Sometimes you only realize you've started a new one in hindsight. (Please see: Me accidentally moving to Mexico City five years ago.)

So, while I may not know exactly what this chapter has in store for me, I know I'm grateful to have you joining me for the adventure. 💜
